Barrier 7

A seven-layer film with a high oxygen barrier property and high strength, ideal for long-term food storage

  • Gas barrier properties
  • Non-curl
  • Label adhesion
  • Transparency and gloss
  • High strength
  • Automatic machine compatibility
  • Suitable for heat sealing
  • Pinhole resistant (frozen)
  • Aroma retention property

Overview

Barrier 7 consists of seven layers of resin. The barrier property and high strength are achieved by using EVOH resin and NY resin characteristics. It is ideal for applications requiring a high oxygen barrier property, such as packaging for foods that readily oxidize and gas flush packaging. Low melting point L-LDPE is used for the innermost layer, and it can be sealed at low temperatures or even when bags are stacked.

  • High oxygen barrier property of EVOH resin

  • Sealable even when bags are stacked

  • Inhibits drip spread

  • High aroma retention property

  • High label adhesion

Features

  1. High barrier (EVOH) performance

The EVOH layer helps preserve food for longer and extends shelf life

EVOH resin is characterized by its high oxygen barrier property, making it ideal for packaging food products that tend to oxidize and for gas flush packaging.

  2. Stack-sealable bag

Bags can be sealed even when stacked

Special polyethylene resin is used for the inner layer, which enables low-temperature sealing. Multiple bags can be sealed even when stacked.

  3. Drip prevention bag

Reduces drip spread and improves appearance

Due to the low melting point of the inner layer, the inner surface fuses during vacuum boiling sterilization (three minutes at 85°C), suppressing the drip spread and improving the finished appearance.

  4. Highly flavor retention

Maintains the aroma of freshly prepared food.

Aromatic polyester resins such as polybutylene terephthalate resin (PBT resin) have the property of retaining the aroma of the contents. This property has been used to impart an aroma-retaining function to the film.

  5. Easy labeling pouch

    Good label adhesion

Polybutylene terephthalate resin (PBT resin) has a very low water absorption rate and is used for the outermost layer. This minimizes moisture absorbed by the film surface and prevents adhesive loss with the label glue. PBT resin is a hydrophilic resin, and since most label glues are acrylic resin, which is also a type of hydrophilic resin, this technology takes advantage of the characteristics that resins with the same properties tend to bond together.
